An Investor's Guide to Understanding ETF's
If you've paid any attention to the stock market lately, you'll notice the ETF's (Exchange Traded Funds) are everywhere. But do you really understand what they are? And more importantly, how they work? For a better explanation of these powerful tools, you should read a posting called "Here's the Keys to aHybrid That Could Take You Further"(https://www.howtoinvestblog.net/2016/11/heres-keys-to-hybrid-that-could-take.html), by Anthony Rhodes, the owner of wealth management firm The Planning Perspective (www.theplanningperspective.com). He addresses these assets on his popular How To Invest blog (www.howtoinvestblog.net).
"ETF's are some of the best tools to become available to investors in quite a long time." he began. "It really doesn't matter which type of investor you identify as, chances are there's an ETF which can fit comfortably within your strategic objectives." he added. "With versions representing nearly any asset class imaginable, they are also popular choices for professional advisors, who must meet targeted allocation guidelines for many types of investors." he explained. "Understanding exactly why they are so popular was the focus I carried with me when writing the post."
When confronted with the choice of selecting either stocks, mutual funds or ETF's, some may wonder which would be ideal for their particular situation. Mr. Rhodes explains why ETF'S are uniquely designed for these types of discussions.
"Every investing tool has its strengths and weaknesses, and there will never be a 'one size fits all' solution for all portfolios." he continued. "But the great thing about ETF's is that they sort of mold many of the benefits of other types of investments into this one, single resource, which makes them more cost-effective in terms of the diversity of their usage." he closed.
